What is RVPI?

RVPI (residual value to paid-in) is the unrealized half of fund value: current holdings' value divided by paid-in capital. TVPI = DPI + RVPI.

A high RVPI late in a fund's life means value exists mostly on paper — either future distributions in waiting or marks that will not survive contact with liquidity.
