Derek founded and led Basecamp Bali, a hotel in Indonesia, from 2019 to 2021, and previously created an automated dorm project that gained widespread media coverage. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley and currently serves as CEO of Cococart.
