Yeeps

Yeeps develops and operates Yeeps: Hide and Seek, a free-to-play social virtual reality game available on Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3s and Quest Pro headsets. The game is open-ended and social: players meet up in shared worlds, build and destroy pillow forts, share items, and can build and play on their own maps in Private Worlds accessible from the in-game "Home" map. Players can find friends through in-game signposts that appear when Meta friends are online, or start private sessions using Private Worlds or a Public World Code.

The company also maintains a surrounding product ecosystem: a free Yeeps Companion App for iOS and Android aimed at content creators and fans, which allows viewing the Yeeps world remotely and capturing footage from first person or a shoulder cam using in-game gadgets such as a selfie stick or drone; a Discord community; and a merchandise line sold through its website including Yeeps Plush, Plush Pets, a Maker Kit and a Paint Punk Bundle. Support and ban appeals are handled through Discord and an email address at the trassgames.com domain.

Moderation is presented as a combination of in-game reporting and muting tools, dozens of in-game moderators, a responsive moderation team, and Voice Patrol, a third-party proactive voice moderation tool used to flag offensive behavior, bullying and toxicity. Community Guidelines violations lead to temporary suspension from online multiplayer and, for continued violations, permanent suspension; suspended players retain access to purchased items and built maps except in cases of modding. Because Meta requires children aged 10-12 (varying by region) to use Parent Managed Accounts, the company documents how parents can restrict games, purchases and playtime, and states it does not ask users for age, personal information or payment methods.

Business model

The core game is distributed free of charge on the Meta Quest store and monetized through in-app purchases of in-game currency and occasional cosmetic bundles; all gameplay features and in-game content are otherwise available without purchase, and in-game currency can also be earned by playing.
