Voovo

Voovo is an education technology company behind a study application built around spaced repetition and active recall. The app began as a flashcard tool designed to shorten the time needed to create study cards, offering diagram cards that auto-detect text in photographed diagrams and tables, voice-created cards, AI-generated cards from scanned or typed text, fill-in-the-blank cards, and drag-and-drop card creation from notes or web pages. Cards can be studied in two modes: a spaced-repetition mode using what the company calls the Anki-Dolphin algorithm for long-term retention, and a rapid learning mode for pre-exam sessions. Image occlusion ("hiding") and imports from documents such as Microsoft Word are also supported.

The current product positions Voovo as a marketplace where students prepare for exams using courses built from content by YouTubers, teachers and other educators. Educator videos and materials are supplemented with curated exercises, spaced-repetition flashcards, summaries and explanations. The described learning flow has three steps: learning through short-form videos, bite-sized summaries and microlearning; practising with 12 exercise types, spaced repetition and adaptive review; and asking Voovo AI for explanations referenced back to the course material. Learners can either study at their own pace or upload a syllabus and exam date so that Voovo AI generates a study plan. Additional in-exercise aids include hints, 50:50, reveal options, extra attempts and "ask audience." Mobile apps are distributed for iPhone and Android.

The company states it works with educators and creators across subjects including medicine, biology, anatomy, biochemistry, food science, economics, history, psychology and grammar, with both Hungarian- and English-language creators listed.
