Viagogo

Viagogo Entertainment Inc., stylized viagogo, is a ticket exchange and ticket resale company that operates an online marketplace for the secondary sale of tickets to live sport, music, theatre and entertainment events. It was founded on 18 August 2006 in London by Eric Baker, who had co-founded StubHub in 2000 and left that company in 2004. The business is registered in Delaware, United States, and is a subsidiary of StubHub Holdings, Inc.; Baker owns Viagogo through a Delaware entity originally named Pugnacious Endeavors, later renamed StubHub Holdings.

The platform connects ticket buyers with sellers ranging from individuals with a spare ticket to large event organisers and professional brokers, and takes commissions from both buyers and sellers on each order. Early activity was concentrated on sports tickets, with concerts, theatre and arts events also offered from launch. In February 2020 Viagogo completed the purchase of StubHub from eBay for approximately $4.05 billion, funded with roughly $2 billion of debt and $2 billion of cash; the combined business was reported to have around $1.5 billion in combined annual revenue and, per contemporaneous reporting, 12 million customers in 70 countries and more than $7 billion in annual sales. The UK Competition and Markets Authority required the two businesses to be run separately pending an in-depth investigation, which was resolved by the sale of StubHub's non-North American entities to Digital Fuel Capital LLC; the merger was approved in September 2021.
