How did your company get started? (i.e., How did the founders meet? How did you come up with the idea? How did you decide to be a founder?)

The idea came from co-founder Hammad, who left Apple and took a year off to plan his next career move. During that time he spent about two months reading two decades of voice technology research papers in chronological order, which led him to conclude he could build strong voice models for smaller languages faster than large tech companies.

What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?

The founders aim to provide access to digital knowledge and services through voice interfaces, targeting users in emerging markets who tend to avoid text-based services such as online ordering or health advice. They argue that voice interfaces can bring hundreds of millions of new users onto digital services.

What is your long-term vision? If you truly succeed, what will be different about the world?

The founders envision a world where people access technology primarily through voice, allowing those who find text interfaces difficult to make fuller use of digital services.
