Tulip

Tulip (Tulip Tech) is a Netherlands-based company that designs and manufactures high energy-density battery packs and power electronics for unmanned systems, including UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles and submersibles. The company positions power as the primary constraint on drone range and endurance and states that its packs deliver 30-100% more range and endurance within the same weight and footprint compared with off-the-shelf packs stalling around 250 Wh/kg. It sources cells from more than 50 suppliers, including silicon-anode chemistries reaching up to 600 Wh/kg and lithium-metal cells at 360-450 Wh/kg.

The product range covers three categories: standard high-density battery packs, custom packs built to a customer's form factor, and smart battery packs with a battery management system that regulates temperature and charge for field readiness. Packs are assembled in production facilities in the Netherlands and shipped worldwide. Each pack is individually validated for voltage, internal resistance, DCIR uniformity and capacity, ships with its own datasheet and UN-certified transport packaging, and is certified to UN38.3. The company states a field failure rate below 1% and traceability across its supply chain.

Tulip describes a workflow that begins with a technical intake call, followed by a specification and pricing offer, cell sourcing and matching, prototyping, laboratory and field testing, and volume production. It states production capability of up to 100,000 packs per year per customized product, with capacity scaling toward one million packs annually.
