Trint

Trint is a London-headquartered AI content creation platform built around automated speech-to-text. It uses automated speech recognition and natural language processing to convert audio, video and live conversations into time-coded, searchable transcripts, which the company states are up to 99% accurate given good audio and clear speech. Files can be batch-uploaded in formats including MP3, MP4, M4A, AAC, WMA, AVI, WAV and MOV, with speaker detection and custom dictionary support. Transcription is offered in more than 40 languages, live transcription in more than 30 languages, and transcripts can be translated into more than 70 languages and turned into localized video captions.

Beyond transcription, the platform combines a synchronized audio/video player and text editor with editorial and collaboration tooling: real-time simultaneous playback and editing by multiple users in an organization, version history, shared drives with granular access levels, highlighting and tagging of key moments, cross-transcript keyword search, and a BulkScribe API for transcribing many files at once. Story Builder converts selected quotes into articles, podcast outlines and video rough cuts, while a Caption Editor produces closed captions. An AI Assistant generates customizable summaries and surfaces key insights, topics and quotes from long transcripts. Trint is available via web, desktop and iOS/Android apps.

Security and privacy are positioned as core to the offering: Trint states it does not access or train its algorithms on customer transcripts, holds ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certifications, and offers EU or US data residency options. Founding story

Trint was founded by Jeff Kofman, an Emmy Award-winning reporter and war correspondent who spent a 30-year career at ABC, CBS and CBC News and estimates he manually transcribed thousands of hours of interviews. Frustrated that journalists were still transcribing interviews, speeches and conferences by hand, he worked with a team of developers in 2014 to apply AI to the task, and Trint was created.
