Company profile

researched Aug 2026

TAIAN, Inc. (株式会社TAIAN) is a Tokyo-based software company serving what it calls the "celebration" (祝祭) market — weddings, banquets, events, parties, restaurants, hotels, travel and gifts — which it sizes at roughly JPY 20 trillion. The company starts from the bridal market and builds technology products for venue operators and consumers, with AI features layered across its portfolio. It is registered as a travel agency (Tokyo Governor registered travel business No. 2-8990) and holds paid-in capital of JPY 90,000,000.

Its product line comprises four main offerings. Oiwaii is an all-in-one wedding and banquet AI SaaS covering marketing, new-customer sales, customer data management, planning meetings, day-of execution and post-event follow-up, with visualization and automation of visit rates and execution tasks; it operates on a BtoBtoC model serving both planners and couples. Canjii is an AI venue-matching and banquet-organizer agency service in which users enter budget, headcount and location and the agent handles venue proposals, planning, run-of-show management and reporting. Concept Marry is a web invitation and seating-chart service with guest RSVP management, online cash gifts (goshugi) and smart check-in, and it links automatically with venues that use Oiwaii. A fourth, global marketplace line provides inbound wedding support through a bilingual team, covering lead generation design and on-the-day operations, integrated with Oiwaii for unified management alongside domestic bookings.

The company is a member of several industry bodies, including the Impact Startup Association, the Japan Bridal Culture Promotion Association, the National Area Wedding Council, Mirai Wedding JAPAN, the TOKYO Wedding Forum, the Aichi Wedding Council, the Okinawa Resort Wedding Association, the Karuizawa Wedding Association, the Kobe Wedding Conference and the Kyushu Banquet Managers' Conference.

Founding story

The company was established on 23 June 2020. CEO Mariko Murata, a graduate of Kobe University's Faculty of Global Human Sciences, worked at Recruit Staffing in sales, new business planning, recruiting and marketing, then built the customer success team for an HR Tech SaaS business at Givery before founding TAIAN in June 2020. CTO Issei Yodogawa, a University of Tokyo engineering graduate with development experience at Mercari and startup studios and later an AI engineer at SoftBank working on logistics DX, co-founded the company in 2020.

Business model

TAIAN sells software and services to bridal and banquet operators (B2B), with products that also reach end consumers through those venues (BtoBtoC). Oiwaii is a SaaS system for wedding venues and banquet businesses; Canjii operates as an AI-assisted venue matching and event-organizing agency service; Concept Marry is a consumer-facing web invitation and seating-chart tool that integrates with venues running Oiwaii; and the global/inbound line provides marketing and operational support services to venues serving overseas couples.

Software and IT services for the bridal and banquet industry, delivered as web-based and AI-powered management systems for venues, planners and event organizers, alongside agency-style venue matching and event execution support.

Traction

Oiwaii is deployed at 400 wedding venues and used by around 1,100 partner vendors, with the company citing roughly 800 transacting businesses nationwide for its all-in-one system. Canjii surpassed 700 partner venues as of end-June 2026. Concept Marry is used by approximately 600,000 people annually. At the Series A stage the company reported transactions with over 400 businesses nationwide, and its pre-Series A disclosure cited support for about 1,600 wedding receptions in roughly two years after release.

Latest developments

In July 2026 TAIAN announced an approximately JPY 700 million Series B round with participation from Globis Capital Partners, JFR MIRAI CREATORS Fund, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, POLA ORBIS HOLDINGS, Ignition Point Venture Partners, Genesia Ventures, NOBUNAGA Capital Village and Hokkaido Kyoso Partners; Genesia invested through its Genesia Venture Fund 3, its fourth investment in the company. Proceeds are earmarked for strengthening the organization, investing in the banquet platform business, extending services to complex facilities such as hotels and restaurants, advancing the inbound business, and building out the vertical data platform and AI agents. The company also received the audience award at IVS2026 LAUNCHPAD in July 2026.

Full profile — market position, technology, go-to-market, geography, history

Market position

TAIAN positions itself as a vertical software provider for Japan's wedding and banquet sector, expanding from bridal into the broader celebration market. Oiwaii is deployed at 400 wedding venues with transactions extending to partner vendors nationwide, Canjii's partner venue network exceeded 700 as of end-June 2026, and Concept Marry is used by roughly 600,000 people a year.

Integration across the full customer lifecycle in a single system — from venue tours and estimates through day-of execution and post-event follow-up — combined with automatic data linkage between the consumer invitation/seating product and the venue-side system, an AI agent layer built on aggregated celebration data, and a bilingual inbound operation that lets venues manage domestic and overseas couples in one place.

Technology

Cloud-based SaaS platforms with AI decision support and AI agents. Oiwaii aggregates "celebration" data across the customer lifecycle and uses AI to support venue operations and decision-making; Canjii uses an AI agent that takes budget, headcount and location inputs to propose venues and manage event planning and reporting. The company states it is building a vertical data platform specialized in celebrations to power specialized AI agents across the event hospitality ecosystem.

Go-to-market

Direct sales to wedding venues and banquet operators for its SaaS, complemented by consumer-facing services that pull venues into the platform, a bilingual team for inbound international demand, industry-association membership and trade-show presence (Bridal Industry Fair 2026), and startup pitch visibility (IVS2026 LAUNCHPAD).

Wedding venues, banquet and bridal businesses, hotels and restaurants and other complex facilities, wedding planners and event/banquet organizers in Japan, plus engaged couples and their guests as end users, and overseas couples holding events in Japan.

Geography

Headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo (1-34-16 Shinjuku, Shimizu Building 3F). Operations are nationwide across Japan, with membership in regional wedding associations covering Aichi, Okinawa, Karuizawa, Kobe and Kyushu, and an inbound business serving overseas couples holding events in Japan; the company states an intention to expand globally.

History

TAIAN was founded in June 2020 and raised seed funding from Genesia Ventures roughly four years before its Series B. Genki Yonekura joined as Director and COO in 2022 after eight years at Recruit Staffing.
