History

The business was established in August 1987 as Chung-Buk Electronics, the predecessor of SIMMTECH, and completed its first manufacturing facility in September 1988. A research center followed in 1993, a burn-in board line in 1994, and the company was renamed SIMMTECH Co., Ltd. in February 1995. Korea's first BGA production line was completed in September 1996. The company listed on the KOSDAQ exchange in January 2000 and expanded capacity through Factory #2 (1999), #3 (2003), #4 in Ochang (2005), #5 (2007) and #9 (2022). Overseas expansion included SIMMTECH HongKong Holdings and the Xi'an, China plant (established July 2010, full production June 2011) and the SUSTIO plant in Penang, Malaysia (full production May 2022). In July 2015 the company converted to a holding company structure and was renamed SIMMTECH Holdings Co., Ltd., with the holding company incorporating affiliates. [1][4][5]
