History

After launching in 2001 with one truck and 120 customers in Hall County, Red Oak acquired Environmental Waste in 2002, expanding its fleet from one to four trucks and its customer base to roughly 5,000, and began marketing in Gwinnett County to residents near Buford, Suwanee and Duluth. In 2003, waste industry veterans Marlon "Stub" Luce and Anthony Grutadaurio — each with more than 20 years of experience and former owners of the north Fulton-based All-Cycle Sanitation, which they operated through much of the 1990s — joined the company. In 2007 Red Oak extended its territory into Forsyth and Fulton counties, and it has since grown to serve more than 150,000 customers in North Georgia through contracts with Gwinnett County, the City of Cumming and the City of Dawsonville.
