Company profile
researched Aug 2026ReceiptHero is a Finland-based fintech that replaces paper receipts with itemised digital receipts delivered automatically to the apps consumers already use. When a customer pays by card or phone, the platform matches the transaction to the customer's payment identity through card-linked technology and routes a line-item receipt to their banking, fintech, expense or accounting application, without the customer providing an email address or scanning a code. Where card-linked delivery is not available, receipts can also be delivered by NFC tap (the terminal or a counter tag emulating an NFC tag opens the receipt in a browser), by dynamic QR code shown on the terminal or customer display, or retrieved afterwards via a merchant landing page or secure portal where the customer enters card number, amount and transaction date.
The receipts themselves carry Level 3 / itemised data including products with EAN codes and a full VAT breakdown, and are white-labelled to the merchant's brand. Additional layers include embedded marketing and coupons, private customer feedback capture, ESG and sustainability tracking, and Apple Wallet and Google Wallet loyalty passes, stamp cards and vouchers that can be offered directly from the receipt. Merchants use a dashboard (portal.receipthero.io) for receipt branding, feedback management, a searchable receipt archive with export for accounting and compliance, onboarding of stores, branches and terminals, digital stamp cards and delivery/engagement analytics.
The company positions the service across four segments: retail and hospitality; EV charging, where digital receipts are framed as a route to AFIR compliance without hardware changes; expense and telecom expense management, where real-time card-linked itemised feeds substitute for OCR of photographed receipts; and payment service providers and POS vendors, who transmit Level 3 receipt data to ReceiptHero via API or SDK to add digital receipts to their own offering. The company is PCI DSS compliant, which allows it to store payment data for matching receipts to customer cards.
