PropertyQuants

PropertyQuants is a Singapore-based property technology company that applies quantitative finance, statistics and data science methods to real estate investing. It was founded by a team of PhD former quantitative traders who previously deployed automated trading models in global financial markets, and positions its work as an alternative to real estate analysis based on incomplete information, emotion, untested assumptions and rules of thumb.

The company operates three linked activity areas. The first is a global real estate database: technology that automatically ingests real estate and related data series from around the world, cleaned, standardized and normalized to local context, spanning transaction prices, neighbourhood-level demographics and migration patterns, and macroeconomic factors, with some inputs converted into proprietary numerical scores such as school quality and commute time scores. The second is a research platform combining cloud databases, geographic information systems, machine learning and data science tooling, and systematic investment methodologies, using a utility-function approach to trade-offs across multiple decision criteria. The third is analytics and prediction output, including neighbourhood price indices built by hedonic regression, automated valuation, correlation, regression, event history and t-test analyses accessible to users without statistics or programming training, plus portfolio analytics measuring risk and return trade-offs, and forecasts of investment returns years ahead.

PropertyQuants also runs an education program: an 11-week, roughly 60-hour live online course (approximately five hours per week) taught by its PhD staff, covering Python, Pandas and Scikit-Learn bootcamps, web harvesting, property price indices, automated valuation models, time series forecasting, cluster analysis, a capstone project, and a two-part Quantum GIS module. Segments can be taken individually, and the course targets participants with at least high-school-level mathematics or statistics.
