Technology

The platform combines AI and machine learning models with drone-acquired visual data at resolutions finer than 0.5 cm/pixel to derive insights for each square centimetre of a field, shifting analysis from plot- and zone-level to individual plants and leaves. Outputs include geo-referenced plant population analyses, weed detection and spot-spraying prescription maps, damage and yield assessments. The company states that its infrastructure allows new use cases or AI models to be trained in a few days and scaled to arbitrary acreage, and that reports export to equipment such as John Deere sprayers and DJI spraying drones.

A memorandum of understanding with Kingdom Konsult concerns launching SMARTAI farming in Qatar.

History

After its 2021 founding and early pilots, Proofminder was a runner-up for AgriInvestor's Innovation of the Year in 2021 and 2022. In 2023 it processed over 1,000 hectares in its system and ran projects on three continents across Europe, South Africa and India, and in December 2023 it hired representatives in Brazil and Australia to open those markets. In 2023 it also secured a €400,000 round led by Impact Ventures. In early 2024 it joined RootCamp Batch #5, completed the THRIVE Agrifood Academy by SVG Thrive Ventures, and was accepted into Ventures Thrive EU and EIT Food programmes. Additional investors joined in Q2 2024 through convertible notes alongside Impact Ventures, and by September 2024 total funding was about €0.9 million. In November 2024 the company announced plans for a €1.5 million seed round in Q1 2025. By 2025 it described itself as a commercial, enterprise-grade platform used by agronomy, seed production and quality assurance teams worldwide.
