History

Following its 1999 founding, Opticis introduced a fiber-optic DVI cable transmitting digital UXGA resolution at COMDEX in 2000 and a fiber-optic USB cable and Gbit VCSEL transceivers (1G-2.5G) in SC and LC connector types in 2001. Mass production of a detachable fiber DVI extender began in 2002, and an international partnership supplying fiber-optic connectivity to a major Japanese TV manufacturer started in 2003. In 2004 it introduced fiber-optic HDMI cable and a dual-link DVI extender; in 2005 it opened a fiber-optic component R&D institute in Gwangju. In 2006 it launched multi-media and KVM fiber-optic extender interfaces and installed daisy-chain extenders in a public transportation application, and in 2007 began supplying medical applications. A fiber-optic DisplayPort cable followed in 2009. The company listed on KOSDAQ in 2011, launched a multi-format modular matrix in 2012 and a multi-format optical converter in 2013, and received a Lightwave Innovation Award recognition for its CWDM optical module in 2015. Headquarters offices moved within Seongnam in 2013 (Kins Tower, Bundang-gu), 2017 (Jeongja-dong, SPG Dreams) and 2020 (Shineung3-dong).
