Odyssey Interactive

Odyssey Interactive is an independent video game development studio headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 2020 by former Riot Games employees, the studio builds free-to-play, cross-platform games based on its own anime-inspired intellectual property, positioning itself around competitive play, long-lived titles with continuing developer support, and player communities that are open to a broad range of players.

The studio's debut title is Omega Strikers, a free-to-play 3v3 "knockout striker" featuring characters set in a bright futuristic society, with ranked and unranked 3v3 modes. Omega Strikers is both developed and self-published by Odyssey Interactive. It entered closed beta on September 16, 2022, followed by an open beta on PC via Steam in September 2022, and launched in April 2023, including a featured placement in Nintendo's eShop. The game launched with a roster of 10 characters, with five more planned during the first season and further character drops each season. The company has stated it has no plans to integrate NFTs or web3 technology into its games.

The studio has hired and relocated staff from Brazil, Korea and China, citing Canadian immigration processes, tax credits such as SR&ED and the digital media tax credit, cost of living, and access to University of Waterloo engineering talent as reasons for locating in Waterloo Region rather than the United States. Korea is described as one of its main markets.
