Muval operates an online platform through which Australian consumers and businesses can find, compare and book removalists for local and interstate house moves. Customers describe what they are moving (a whole home, a few rooms, a few items or other categories) and the platform automatically calculates the space required, then surfaces removalists in its network with availability, pricing and ratings that can be filtered by date, price and review score. Bookings are completed online without waiting for individual quotes.

Beyond the core removalist booking, Muval bundles a range of adjacent moving services: electricity and gas connections and internet connections via a "connections concierge", removals insurance branded Muval Cover, self-pack container options, packing and unpacking, car transport, pet transport, office and commercial relocations including bulky freight, and employee/staff relocation programs. A standard removalist booking includes a truck and two movers (depending on move size), protective blanket covering, loading and unloading, and customer service support; MuveXpress bookings include $5,000 of complimentary cover on named items.
