Company profile

researched Aug 2026

Montfort Capital Corp. (TSX-V: MONT; formerly also quoted as OTCQB: MONTF) is a Canadian private credit manager that builds and manages portfolios of privately negotiated, non-bank debt financing. The company assembles a diversified group of specialized private credit brands, each with its own focused investing strategy and dedicated management team, and supports them with tech-enabled origination, underwriting and credit-monitoring processes. Montfort markets its strategies to institutional investors, family offices/family wealth offices and wealth managers, and positions its public listing as a way for equity investors to gain exposure to a private credit manager while giving private lending businesses access to public-company capital and financing options.

The group's composition has changed materially over time. As of late 2024 Montfort's business lines were Brightpath Capital (residential mortgages), Langhaus Financial, Nuvo Financial and Pivot Financial. Following the November 2024 divestiture of the TIMIA Capital business unit and the 2025 sale of the Brightpath mortgage lending business, the company's own site lists its subsidiaries as Langhaus Financial and Nuvo Financial. Management framed the mortgage divestiture as a step to concentrate operations on lending segments run from its Toronto head office.
