Grasshopper Kids

Grasshopper Kids is an education company that organizes in-person enrichment experiences for children aged 3 to 12 and delivers them on site at schools. Programming spans art, STEM, music, foreign languages, cooking, sports, theater, crafts and nature topics, and is offered as after-school enrichment, workshops during the school day, school-day-off and break-week sessions, and holiday and summer camps. Classes run weekly in 1-hour, 90-minute or 2-plus-hour formats, and schools can book by quarter, semester or calendar year and change the mix of activities each term.

The company recruits and vets the instructors who lead these sessions, drawing on current and former educators, musicians, artists, chefs, camp counselors, coaches, athletes, librarians and other creative professionals. Its stated vetting process consists of an interview and a background check before a teacher designs and delivers an experience. Teachers are supported with lesson-planning tools, a free teacher coach and a peer community, and are matched to school bookings by Grasshopper, which handles logistics and scheduling. One program line, "Rangers in the Classroom," pairs park rangers with schools for nature education; according to the company it began as a response to ranger furloughs during the government shutdown of fall 2025 and continued afterward at rangers' request.
