Founding story

GovWorx was founded by Alex Montgomery and Scott MacDonald, both former first responders. Montgomery was a volunteer firefighter EMT and worked as a wildland firefighter for the Forest Service before spending a decade building software, including at Schoology, SoulCycle and Vector Solutions. MacDonald served as a firefighter and emergency communications supervisor, then spent roughly 20 years in product roles delivering public safety applications at Motorola, TriTech and PowerDMS. The idea arose from observing conversation-analysis tools such as Gong and Chorus AI used for sales and support coaching, and asking whether an equivalent could be built for 9-1-1.
