Fuel

Fuel, operated by Fuel Labs, develops an Ethereum layer-2 network called Fuel Ignition, powered by its own virtual machine, the FuelVM. The architecture combines parallel transaction execution, a UTXO-based asset model with state access lists, native assets and native account abstraction, with the stated goal of increasing throughput while keeping node hardware requirements low enough for home verification. The company describes Fuel V1 as a 2020 precedent-setter, citing it as the first optimistic rollup on Ethereum mainnet and the first to reach stage-2 security status; data availability security is based on Ethereum (EIP-4844 blobs).

Alongside the network, Fuel maintains a developer stack: Sway, a domain-specific blockchain programming language with a Solidity transpiler, and the Fuel orchestrator (forc) and Fuelup toolchain, positioned as the equivalent of Rust's cargo for creating, building, testing and deploying Sway projects. The published ecosystem includes the Griffy prediction market, MIRA DEX and the Swaylend lending platform.
