Technology

An AI-native autonomy stack combining ruggedized sensors, edge compute and networked platforms. The system fuses EO, IR and SAR imagery, SIGINT, EW and RF signals, CAN-bus and speed telemetry, and HUMINT and structured text reporting into a unified local intelligence stream, with onboard edge models for sensing, processing and autonomous tasking and human-in-the-loop retraining. AuraNet provides sensing and communications across regions with no or patchy cellular service and a map-based interface, and is designed to interoperate with existing command-and-control architectures. Dominion Scout is an uncrewed, AI-powered drone intended to fly independently or paired with fifth-generation fighter aircraft.

Go-to-market

The company sells directly to defence and security operators, using field trials and operational deployments as validation, including trials in Northern Ontario, deployment in the Yukon, and participation in Operation Nanook in the Arctic. Its website offers technology demonstrations on request. It also runs XLabs programs at universities, which it plans to expand.

Defence, security and critical infrastructure operators, principally the Canadian Armed Forces and allied NATO forces. The Canadian Rangers used AuraNet in the High Arctic in 2026, and the company has described validating its systems for use by Canada and its NATO partners.

History

Founded in June 2025 and publicly launched in the fourth quarter of 2025 alongside a pre-seed raise in October 2025. In January 2026 it announced a C$21M (US$15.2M) seed round led by Georgian, bringing total raised to C$26M (US$18.8M), and outlined plans for a Toronto development office, a Kanata factory, expanded XLabs university programs and an Arctic deployment under Operation Nanook. In June 2026 it announced a C$139M Series A, also led by Georgian, bringing cumulative funding to C$169M.

Risks & controversies

Press coverage notes that some investors retain ethical reservations about backing defence companies. The company's growth plans depend on continued Canadian defence spending increases, following Canada meeting NATO's 2 percent of GDP benchmark and committing to 5 percent by 2035.
