Critical Loop

Critical Loop provides on-demand power solutions for industrial and commercial sites that need megawatts of capacity faster than utility interconnection timelines allow. The company deploys behind-the-meter energy storage and generation designed to supplement the gap between a site's existing utility capacity and the power it needs to operate at full output, and also designs, develops and maintains permanent long-term power infrastructure for sites that require it. In both cases the company positions its work as coordinated with the serving utility from the outset to ensure grid integration.

The core product is Cygnus, a proprietary power control system that monitors grid conditions in real time, draws the maximum available utility power and coordinates on-site resources to fill the remaining shortfall while leaving the utility in control. The company describes Cygnus as the only controller certified under both UL 3141 and IEEE 2030.5, the certifications that enable flexible interconnection approvals from California utilities. Around the controller, Critical Loop deploys modular, megawatt-scale battery systems that are relocatable by design and integrate with Cygnus and existing power sources, so capacity can be scaled down and removed once a permanent utility upgrade is completed.

Critical Loop handles the full lifecycle itself, from early-stage project development through financing, permitting, deployment, monitoring, and long-term operations and maintenance, offering customers a single contract and single point of accountability.
