Coupl, operated by Coupl Software India Private Limited, provides a mobile-first shared money product for couples and other cohabiting pairs in India. Users open a zero-balance digital joint wallet through Aadhaar-based e-KYC in under 60 seconds, invite a partner via a share link, and receive two matching RuPay Platinum debit cards (virtual immediately, physical delivered in roughly 5-7 days). The account supports top-ups via UPI, online and offline card payments, utility bill payments (electricity, water, gas, internet, rent, OTT) through Bharat BillPay, automatic expense categorisation, real-time shared transaction feeds, spending statistics, budgets, daily and category limits, and alerts to both partners.

The company positions the product as an alternative to traditional Indian joint accounts, which it describes as available mainly to married couples, slow to open, often requiring branch visits and matching identity documents, subject to minimum balance requirements, and lacking expense-management features. Coupl is explicitly open to married, dating, engaged, long-distance, same-sex and cohabiting couples as well as flatmates, and requires no relationship documentation. It also competes with manual workarounds such as Splitwise, spreadsheets and messaging-group tracking.

Coupl is not a bank. Sources describe accounts as issued by RBI-authorised partners: the website and Play Store list LivQuik Technology (India) Pvt Ltd as the PPI issuer, with the Play Store also naming IDFC First Bank as a bank partner and the YC profile stating the product is powered by RuPay, NPCI and IDFC FIRST Bank. A rewards layer offers cashback (up to 1% on card spends), brand cashback and discounted villa bookings with travel partners Lohono Stays and Elivaas.
