Captain's Eye

Captain's Eye develops a SaaS platform that applies artificial intelligence to live video feeds from cameras already installed on ships and at industrial sites, detecting safety, security and operational events such as smoke and fire, leaks, unauthorized access, equipment failures, PPE violations and unsafe crew behaviour, and issuing real-time alerts. The platform also ingests inputs from radar and thermal sensors, and supports remote monitoring, documentation and data collection for actuarial and preventive purposes. Beyond detection, the product offers digital inspections with automated compliance reports, policy execution tools for assigning and evidencing tasks such as safety drills, and predictive analytics based on historical data and environmental conditions.

The system is positioned for three segments: merchant vessels of all types, yachts and cruise ships; ports and terminals; and onshore sites including petrochemical plants, manufacturing facilities and energy infrastructure. Onboard processing transmits only necessary data to the cloud, which the company says allows operation over low-bandwidth satellite links, while fleet managers monitor all vessels through a central dashboard with customizable alerting. Founded in 2020 with a maritime focus, the company has since extended into onshore critical infrastructure while describing maritime as its core market.
