Bright Moments Private

Bright Moments was a generative and AI art project that ran from 2021 to 2024, built around turning the minting of NFTs into live, in-person ceremonies rather than a solitary online transaction. It started as a storefront in Venice Beach, California in the summer of 2021, conceived during pandemic lockdown, and grew into a multi-year travelling program that staged minting events in New York, Berlin, London, Mexico City, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Paris, and concluded in Venice, Italy.

Each city installment used a repurposed physical venue - including power plants converted into galleries, basements into theaters, and storefronts into event spaces - where the mint and reveal of an artwork was staged as a choreographed performance for an audience. Over the course of the project it worked with 150 artists and minted close to 20,000 generative and AI artworks on-chain, including the 10,000-piece CryptoCitizens collection. Works presented over the run included Tyler Hobbs' Incomplete Control, and the closing Venice, Italy program assembled 60 artists drawn from across the project's history. The company states the project was funded without fiat investment, using ETH.

Founding story

The project began during pandemic lockdown as a response to the isolation of minting NFTs alone online, opening as a storefront in Venice Beach in the summer of 2021 with the aim of turning minting into a shared, in-person experience.

Traction

Across the 2021-2024 run the project involved 150 artists, minted nearly 20,000 generative and AI artworks on-chain, and produced the 10,000-piece CryptoCitizens collection.
