Akuity

Akuity operates an enterprise software delivery platform built around the open-source Argo project and Kargo. The core offering is a fully managed Argo CD service that removes the operational work of running GitOps at scale — upgrades, patching, scaling and tuning — while adding enterprise capabilities such as secure projects, auditability, permissions and support. A hybrid agent model connects the managed control plane to customer clusters.

Beyond deployment, the platform covers policy-driven promotion and operations. Its Kargo-based promotion layer coordinates changes from development to staging to production across Kubernetes, Terraform, VMs, serverless and cloud environments, using artifacts and commit metadata for traceability and applying unified approval and audit policies rather than bespoke CI/CD scripts. A third component, Akuity Intelligence, embeds AI agents that act as an "AI SRE": creating incidents when applications or namespaces degrade, correlating logs, metrics, events and deployment history into a single incident timeline, providing fleet-wide dashboards covering clusters, namespaces, image inventory, deprecated APIs and stuck resources, and executing runbooks either automatically or subject to human approval, with Slack updates and audit trails.

The product integrates with GitHub, GCP, Azure, Datadog, JFrog, OCI, Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenTofu, Jira, Crossplane, Slack and Microsoft Teams. Founding story

Akuity was founded by Argo co-creators Hong Wang, Jesse Suen and Alexander Matyushentsev, who were founding engineers at Applatix, the company that open-sourced the Argo project in 2017. After Intuit acquired Applatix in 2018, the three worked on Argo at Intuit — Hong managed the Argo team and built a control plane for hundreds of Kubernetes clusters, Jesse led design of Workflows, CD and Rollouts, and Alexander led Argo CD development. Having built tooling used by roughly five thousand Intuit engineers, and observing other organizations repeating the same fragile, script-based CI/CD patterns, they started Akuity to productize an application delivery platform for Kubernetes powered by Argo.

Akuity commercializes open-source Argo CD and Kargo through a managed, subscription software platform sold in Pro and Enterprise tiers, together with a separate Akuity Enterprise Support offering.
