Aevo

Aevo is a decentralized derivatives exchange that supports options, perpetual futures and other products within a single margin account. It combines off-chain order matching with on-chain settlement, and runs on a custom Layer 2 built on the OP Stack, which the company says provides high throughput while inheriting Ethereum's security. The company advertises exchange performance of more than 5,000 transactions per second and sub-10ms latency.

The product set documented by the company comprises: Aevo Exchange, the core trading venue offering perpetual futures and options on ETH, BTC and additional altcoins with cross-margin support; Aevo PERPS+, which packages perpetual exposure together with options to create defined-risk structured payoffs in a single trade; Aevo MCP, a Model Context Protocol integration intended to give AI agents programmatic access to Aevo's trading infrastructure; Aevo OTC, an on-chain OTC desk for altcoin options built on the Aevo L2, addressed at a market the company describes as roughly 75% off-exchange; and Aevo Strategies, automated vault strategies for options-based yield. Developers can access the platform through documented REST and WebSocket APIs and a public Python SDK.

The protocol is governed by AEVO token holders via on-chain proposals and Snapshot votes, with documentation covering token distribution, staking and a buyback-and-burning mechanism tied to protocol revenue. Aevo states that its strategy products come from the team behind Ribbon Finance and its decentralized options vaults, and that team members previously worked at Coinbase, Kraken and Goldman Sachs and studied at Stanford, MIT and Cornell.
