Aparna Ramanathan is a former medical doctor who worked in Australian hospitals for 11 years before relocating to the United States in 2011, where she shifted focus to mental health coaching and support. She founded AskMyClass (now Soundkins) in 2017, developing voice-based technology to provide behavioral and social-emotional support for elementary school classrooms and children.
